Art as an Anchor of Curriculum in the Montessori Classroom

This presentation will illuminate how a monthly curriculum can be designed around a specific artist or artistic movement.  The units are cross-curricular and include the following topics: art; science; mathematics; language; music; culture; geography; community-building; nature; mindfulness; ABAR; drama; food; and practical life. Come with your creative thinking cap on, staying open to the possibility that a curriculum anchored by a specific artist can transform the capacity for learning within the classroom.
