This workshop will address how to find a common focus as you balance transparency and rational compassion in partnering with families of students with exceptionalities. Learn how to prepare the child's family and educational staff for the journey from assessment to instruction; how best to communicate professionally with the therapeutic team supporting the child; and more.

Amy Kelton Cushner, MEd, has been the associate head of School and head of Upper Elementary at a Montessori school in Texas. She is the co-author of a chapter on Oral Language in the book by Dr. Joyce Pickering, "Montessori Applied to Children At Risk." She holds a Qualified Instructor (QI) in the remediation program (SEE) for children with written language disorders. AMS credentialed (Elementary I).
