Are the children you know motivated by rewards, or praise, or their own hard work? While we all want the students in our classroom to be intrinsically motivated, it’s easy to assume that rewards or praise might also be a good motivator.

In this webinar, you will learn why rewards hinder a student’s natural desire to learn, how praise can be a type of reward, and how this impacts a student’s development and sense of self. Further, you’ll discover the ways Maria Montessori intuitively implemented intrinsic motivation in the classroom and how her methods directly align with current research on intrinsic motivation.
