When administrators and teachers use this crucial time as an opportunity to educate parents who are seeking understanding, and support children who are seeking connection and orientation, they can set the tone for long term cohesion and continuity among faculty and parents, paired with trust and intrinsic motivation from students.

Christine Carrig, MSEd, is the founding director of a Montessori school in Brooklyn, NY. She has been working in Montessori education for over 15 years. She is a certified Positive Discipline instructor, Mindfulness Meditation teacher and Family Life Coach. She regularly holds workshops on topics related to Montessori and child development within her community and online. AMS credentialed (Early Childhood).
