Rediscovering the Principles & Practices of the Sensorial Materials

1.5 CPDs   Run Time 32:39

There is sometimes a tendency among educators to misrepresent the purpose and presentation of Montessori Sensorial materials: supplemental materials have been introduced to “enhance” them, and they have been used in artistic demonstrations or as decoration. Yet these changes rarely induce the kind of concentration that promotes normalization in children. In this session, you will get back in touch with the roots of Sensorial education, including the precise presentation of the materials. You will leave the session with a refocused attention to and excitement about their purpose, design, use, and potential.
