The Benefits of a Mixed-Age Environment (Birth to 6)

The Benefits of a Mixed-Age Environment (Birth to 6)

1.5 CPDs, Time  41:23

This session is designed for Montessori educators to examine the benefits of the Mixed-age environment, which is a naturalized model for Montessori education. Having three-year cycles within our classrooms, allows children of varied ages to develop in a synchronistic fashion. By enhancing learning and creating an environment rich in language, practical life, social experiences, and the development of preferences, the students deeply benefit from a Multicultural experience. The mixed-age environment adds to the accomplishment of skills and the contribution to the classroom dynamic, the family, and the discovery of the self for all students and all ages.

This webinar is presented by Mrs. Sherita Sargusingh. She has been an Art, Montessori, and Multicultural educator for several years. She enjoys sharing her experience with educators about Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Multicultural education within the Montessori classroom. She has an AMS Infant-Toddler credential, an AMS Administration credential, and an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology. She is currently the Head of School for Greater Montessori School located in Columbia, MD (Hickory Ridge).
