Dr. Montessori knew that successful learning for students begins with the spiritual preparation of the teacher who must be willing to discard long-held beliefs and practices to serve children. This same transformation is necessary for school administrators to successfully guide Montessori teachers. Teachers prepare the learning environment for their students; administrators must prepare the professional environment for staff. They must employ some aspects of the Montessori teaching philosophy to enable a cohesive, collaborative school ecosystem that will allow autonomy and also adherence.
