Montessori pedagogy emphasizes a holistic and interconnected understanding of humanity and our place in the world. Through the "cosmic education," which focuses on cultivating a deep respect and understanding for the interconnectedness of all life on Earth, children develop a sense of stewardship for the planet. They nurture a global mindset that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries, by exploring and appreciating the diversity of cultures, languages, and traditions, and fostering a deep respect for different ways of life. This approach needs at the same time to emphasize the oneness of humanity and advocate for the unity of all peoples, cultures, and nations, by recognizing the inherent dignity and worth of every individual, irrespective of their race, nationality, or background, and actively working towards the elimination of all forms of prejudice or biases and the promotion of unity in diversity.Children grow with a sense of global responsibility, where individuals see themselves not only as members of their own community or nation but as part of a broader human family. Being a world citizen entails recognizing our interconnectedness with all of humanity and the planet, fostering unity in diversity, promoting peace and justice, and actively working towards the betterment of the world for present and future generations. It involves embracing a global perspective that transcends narrow boundaries and promotes the well-being of all individuals and the planet as a whole.
